Orson Welles War of the World’s Broadcast and It’s Impact

Unbelievable that a radio broadcast about a Martian invasion could cause so much panic in 1938. Here’s a dumbfounded Orson Welles answering the press about the surprising response to his broadcast.

Here is Orson talking about the event years later. He admits here that the broadcast had not been as innocent as they had made out at the time, rather they had some motive to undermine the gullible and undiscerning trust that most people placed in the new technology of the radio.
